Uniikkituote (unique product) is a new independent project for the preservation and restoration of Finnish handicraft traditions. We aim to locate, document and distribute information concerning our endangered national heritage. To support these efforts Uniikkituote-project is also a commercial company. Our wide range of products include, for example:

Our primary goal is to bring national and international visibility to our talented craftspeople (and their produce), who would otherwise be known only locally, and thus, unable to support themselves through their craft.
Our guiding principles are high quality combined with functionality and beauty. Furthermore, we favour the use of clean natural materials – our customers do not have to worry about chemical contaminants or toxins.
All our producers are experienced and dedicated professionals (often artisans by trade) who take great pride in their work. Both our craftspeople and the crew of Uniikkituote-project (many of whom are artisans, as well) are firmly committed to a level of excellence that guarantees high customer satisfaction.
Our goal is to use only best possible visual material (photos) to give our customers accurate description of our products and to better convey the essence of handmade items. Most imagery on our site has been taken by our photographer Vesa Nopanen.

Uniikkituote also offers a discussion platform (our blog) for our craftspeople, customers and anyone interested in handicraft. Our goal is to include articles in English also, but currently the primary language for the blog is Finnish. Feel free to peruse through the article archives regardless, you might find something of interest – at least in the imagery. Uniikkituote-project is still in its starting phase and we do not have the necessary resources to build a complete international version of the site yet. However, we encourage you to ignore the language barrier and rummage without hesitation through our product categories – if you find something you wish to order copy the link (URL) from the Location Bar and contact us directly via Email. |
